Feel:
A relatively low-profile beadless putter. Nuclear is Wild Discs’ durable glow plastic (think Glow Champion) and has a good amount of grip and a little bit of give - basically means the grip is great and the durability should be great as well.
Flight:
I’ve seen and heard this disc compared to a Luna, and that seems to match up. This stable putter is certainly not overstable, but boy can it fly. On hyzer, the Sea Otter will just hold that hyzer and not dump out - I’ve had hyzers with this go 250-275’ and pushing 300’ with anhyzer out of the hand. Thrown hard, this disc will pan, but not fight, out of an anhyzer angle - it won’t really ever get back to a hyzer angle unless you stall it. Thrown flat, or with a baby hyzer, this disc will either flip to flat or over to anhyzer - to me, this is the weakness of the disc. It just feels inconsistent when thrown flat or with a baby hyzer with power - on softer throws the disc is much more consistent (<175’). The Sea Otter seems to prefer one-angle throws (which I do as well) so it fits my game very well.
Favorites:
The Sea Otter has also proven itself as a close-range forehand approach. I like it for hyzer forehands that flip up and fly straight - or a little bit of turn - to hit tunnels/gaps.
