I'll be honest I didn't think I'd be writing this review for several more years, I have a Star Firebird that I've been using for the last year or so and it's juuuuuuuuust beat in enough that I can get it to turn over a little bit and make it a teensy bit more stable. So naturally I hucked it up on the abandoned building on basket 12 at Highland Park where I assumed I'd never see it again. Purchased this Star Firebird as a replacement...only to have someone with a key to the building find my old one and leave it for me. So now I'm the kind of guy that has two Star Firebirds in his bag, one for more turnover-y shots and one that's really going to stick to that overstable flight. I might have been more annoyed by this but honestly the Firebird is one of my favorite discs so I'm happy to have a few of them in the bag.

When a horrible misread of the wind lead to my previous Star Firebird plunging to it's watery grave, of course a replacement was needed. I'm not a long thrower, but the Star Firebird still gives me some straight flight on a good throw before that reliable overstability kicks in. I wasn't sure whether the I-Dye would feel and fly the same, but the red/orange color was hard to resist (I mean, c'mon, it's a FIREbird...) and was the weight I was looking for, so I decided to give it a shot. So far it feels like the same consistent, overstable skip-machine every bag needs.

I’m a 70 year old player and I was afraid the Firebird would be to stable.
Fact is I love it and haven’t missed a shot with it yet.

I loved it I lost it. I gotta get another one.
