The Takapu is the 11th mold in the RPM Discs lineup and the 3rd putter. PDGA approved with the model number PA3, this disc is what lots of RPM fans have been hoping for, for quite some time. Before the release of the Takapu, the only putters from RPM Discs were the Shallow/Beaded Tui (understable) and the Deep Rimmed/Beaded Ruru (straight to stable). The new Takapu has a much more familiar feel in the hand for most players as it is beadless and has that P2/Classic Aviar type feel in the hand. When I first got my hands on the Takapu, I tested it out for putting in addition to testing it as a throwing putter. The Takapu has 100% made a place in my bag, but not as a putting putter. Not that it isn’t a great putting putter, I have just never had as much success with a putter than I have with the Magma Soft Tuis. With this being said, I didn’t putt bad with the Takapu whatsoever, it just wasn’t enough to knock the Tui out of that putter spot for me. This disc feels great in the hand and is great for both throwing and putting. I am currently bagging an Atomic Takapu for throwing. This disc isn’t beefy, but it definitely gets you that fade at the end of the flight that you are looking for in a stable to overstable putter. I can throw it hard with a bit of hyzer and it will flip up just a tad and still get that fade when it slows back down. Throwing it soft on hyzer, it is a perfect “get around it” kind of disc without having too much fade. This putter absolutely fills the perfect slot in the RPM putter lineup. Now we have the understable Tui, straight to stable Ruru, and the stable to overstable Takapu. This putter has definitely earned a permanent spot in my bag! Wow! This disc is perfect. It goes really far for a 9 speed, but it's also easy to throw and very controllable. It fit into my bag instantly. Anything 350 and under, FH or BH this disc can snatch you a birdie. Not as under stable as the numbers say. I'd give it 9, 6, -2, 2. It's a very workable disc. Absolutely love it.
I went to Gotta Go Throw with a wishlist of one disc: Piwakawaka (of course I left with another 5 discs!) I saw the Pieakawaka online on RPM website and I was so interested in the understable midrange. When I put the disc in my cart, with the international shipping it was looking to be 50 some dollars. I couldn’t swing that, so I ended up not doing it that day. I later saw Gotta Go Throw was right in MN and near me! AND Had this in stock! I bought it. It’s winter so I’ve only had a couple times to throw. So far, it is understable, it basically does the opposite of what you think it will do (compared to stable/ overstable) That said, it is what I want. There are some hook shots and other holes that I want a fairly straight line but want the fade to be away from the hazard or the clearing. I’ve also found with a bit of hyzer this just goes dead straight! So for sure one I’ll have in my bag for utilities. I’m not completely used to it so far, but loving what I got!
Wow. I was having C1 issues and this thing fixed it. It feels REALLY good in the hand. I know a lot of my friends like throwing the Cosmic and Glow off the tee and for upshots. I REALLY like the Magma and Atomic for putting. It's very straight with the perfect light fade into the chains. I usually like beaded putters. But this just has the perfect feeling rim so it's my go to now. And a ladybug landed on it my first day so you know it's good luck.

Love it, it's always a great surprise to see one of my favorite discs again. Then I get to get it in the mail and unbox it again
The putter has a great powdery feel to it so it does not slip, which helps with accuracy. Love my DX AviarX3 putter!

For someone who throws a controlled ~425ft with distance drivers, this fits the straight into moderate fade 350-375ft slot perfectly. Even has some torque resistance on forehands. Perfect fairway driver.

Great store! Always solid shipping!
A great mid-size bag for the price. Well designed. Stable when resting on the ground. It has a generous, usable, putter pouch, along with plenty of space for discs. Sensible storage and a proper large bottle pouch. The harness is comfortable and rests properly on my wife’s back… she did not like many similar bags because of the poor harness fit/support. She is extremely happy with it!
I went with the tuff because it combined my two all time favorite putters; Kc Pro Aviar and PA-3. If you want straight push and reliability, dont sleep on the Tuff
40% off. $13 for glow plastic!
Disco Biscuits
I lost a disc over 2 years ago at the preserve and was absolutely shocked when I received the text message.
I’ve been trying to decide putting with a Pa-1 and a Pa-3 and they are both so good. It was basically down to a coin flip haha which I ended up with the pa-1. However I fully recommend this putter!
Already retired as, I got my first Ace on a course with it, on my 4th time out
