New discs are great. But used discs? Used discs are where the real value lives. Whether you're a beginner building your first bag on a budget, an intermediate player hunting for a specific beat-in flight, or a collector chasing a discontinued run you missed the first time around — our used disc selection at Gotta Go Gotta Throw is one of the best places to find exactly what you're looking for. Here's everything you need to know.

Why Buy Used Discs?

1. Premium Plastic at a Fraction of the Price

A new Innova Champion disc or Discraft ESP driver runs $15–$22. The same disc in used condition — often with minimal wear — can be had for significantly less. If you're building a bag of 10–15 discs, the savings add up fast. Used discs let you play premium plastic without paying premium prices.

2. Beat-In Discs Fly Differently — and That's a Feature

A disc that's been thrown a few hundred times has beaten in — it's become more understable than when it was new. For many players, this is exactly what they want. A beat-in overstable midrange that now flies neutral is a completely different tool than a fresh one. A beat-in driver that used to be stable and now turns over is perfect for hyzer flips and turnover lines. Used discs give you access to flight characteristics that new discs simply can't replicate.

3. Discontinued Runs and Rare Finds

Some of the best discs ever made are no longer in production. Used disc sections are where discontinued molds, out-of-print stamps, and rare colorways resurface. If you've been hunting for a specific disc that's been out of stock for years, our used inventory is the place to look.

4. Lower Stakes for Experimenting

Not sure if a new mold is right for your game? Buy it used first. If it doesn't work for you, you've spent less and can move on. Used discs are the perfect low-risk way to try new molds, plastics, and flight profiles before committing to a new copy.

How We Grade Used Discs

Every used disc in our inventory is individually inspected and listed with its actual condition. We photograph each disc so you can see exactly what you're getting — the color, the stamp condition, and any wear. What you see in the listing is what you receive. No surprises.

General condition guidelines:

  • Like New / Lightly Used — minimal to no visible wear, flies like a new disc
  • Moderately Used — visible scuffs or light scratches, may have begun to beat in slightly
  • Heavily Used / Beat In — significant wear, noticeably more understable than new — great for players who want that beat-in flight

Tips for Buying Used Discs

  • Check the rim carefully. Rim damage from tree hits is the main thing that affects flight. Light surface scratches are cosmetic; deep rim gouges can change how a disc flies.
  • Know what beat-in does. If you want a disc to fly like the manufacturer intended, buy lightly used or new. If you want a more understable version of a stable disc, moderately or heavily used is your friend.
  • Weight matters less used. A 175g disc that's been thrown 500 times will fly more understable than a 168g new disc of the same mold. Don't obsess over weight when buying used — focus on condition.
  • Used is perfect for experimenting. Not sure if a Kastaplast Kaxe or a Dynamic Discs Verdict is right for your midrange slot? Buy both used, throw them for a round, and keep the one that works.
