A disc golf hole follows a simple progression from start to finish.
1. Tee Throw
Every hole begins at a designated tee pad. This is your starting point and typically a concrete or turf surface.
2. Lie and Next Throws
Where your disc lands becomes your next lie. All subsequent throws must be made from behind that point.
3. Approach Shots
As you get closer to the basket, control becomes more important than distance.
4. Putting
Final throws are used to complete the hole by landing the disc in the basket.
Players always throw in order from farthest to closest to the basket for safety and fairness.
