So far I like it but I did have a problem with it de telescoping after it extended it was very difficult to unextend.basically gets stuck in extended position

I had two shipped out. The first had a piece that was too small and resulted in the entire thing falling out of the handle. The shop was amazing and sent a replacement the next day, which exceeded my expectations. However, I reached back out because after using the replacement two to three times, it broke when my cart tipped over and the because the Dryve stick is so long, it sticks out of the cart pocket, like it would in any disc golf bag, and the end cracked in two places, again, meaning the 2nd largest piece falls out of the handle again. This thing contains about 1% carbon fiber or less. It is not durable, nor is it stronger than anything else on the market. Get a Kwik Stick, as they're actually more durable than the plastic with a thin layer of carbon fiber spray on it that Dryve uses. It also does not work with the Max Distance Max Stick suction cup retriever, which is the best thing for disc golf since fairway drivers were created back in the day. The shop originally said that since I broke it, there was nothing they could do, but I reached out to ask if they could please do something, as this thing is GARBAGE...Nothing against the shop at all, as I understand where they are coming from, but I also would hope they stand behind their products a little more. I mean, they could easily call Dryve and ask for a refund from them too...

My butt end cap came stripped had to glue it in so now systematic cleaning of telescopic pole will be dificult. I added a suction cup retriever end instead of the hook. I have another that has the hook and i sharpened the hook to a needle point and it works very well. Overall a great retriever but it takes finesse to fish some discs out.

I like the extra length over competitive products and the small hook at the end does not get trapped in the tree compared to the one’s with a wide rake on the end. Only drawbacks are the cap is easily lost and it’s possible for the poles to jam inside the the tube.

The business end has no way to attach any attachments. It comes with a feeble hook on the end that is held in by heat shrink rubber. Needless to say the hook detached within a couple uses from catching on branches. Now I essentially have an extendable carbon fiber rod with no real way to attach anything to the end because the carbon fiber will crack if you screw anything into the end. Gonna need another retriever.

First off, this thing is crazy long! I would be very surprised if I ever got a disc stuck in a tree too high for me to reach with this thing. It is easy to use and easy to attach to a bag. Because of the case and attachments provided. The only issue I have had with it on my bag is it catching onto branches as I crouch below them (it is 6-8” taller than my backpack, the dynamic discs trooper).

Also, their customer service is incredible and responsive! I ended up losing the cap that goes on top of the tube, so I emailed customer service and they sent me a new one along with additional hooks for FREE within a day (this was even on a weekend, mind you). I would 100% recommend this retriever for anyone!

The only small gripe I have about it is that the hook would not grip the disc well to easily retrieve a disc from the water.

Likely the best pole of this style out there. I don’t think it’s for everyone though. Sensitive components may quickly break if you are rough on your stuff but everything is easily replaceable. If you take care of your tools you won’t have any issues for years.

This retriever has the longest reach I’ve ever seen, and it is just as light as advertised. The carbon fiber gives a real polished look that is water proof.

My only complaint would be the hill on the end. It’s pretty simple, and I understand it can’t have the weight of one of the bigger attachments given how long this thing can get and the force that would be at the end of the lever. It takes some finessing though, and I find myself having to poke and drag discs to get them back rather being able to really grab them.

I've used several retrievers and this one is ok. Is not very durable, mine cracked where the 2nd thinnest section met the 3rd after about 30 retrievals.. I am still able to use it but its just shorter. It lasted longer than the kwick stick which is made of metal. I was suprised by that. I got about 12 retrievals out of the Kwick stick.. The Kwick stick is just a golf ball retriever with a different head and can not take any current, side motion or the drag of retrieving a disc in water. It broke where the thickest section met the 2nd thickest section. I had to use a hose clamp to keep it together to still use it but its shorter as well. The disc gator I made 60+ retrievals and when a section of the pole broke it was simple to replace it and still gets full lenght. It does take a bit longer to assemble but its more accurate, grips the disc well, and holds up to water current that the other retrievers can't handle. The retriever companies claim that these will save you $ but most retrievals made with them i could have found a stick or took my shoes off to get. I feel like the gator made some retrievals that the dryve or Kwick stick would not have held up to and many more quality retrievals before it broke. It was repairable after the break where the other 2 had to ge rigged so im partial to the gator.
