Telescoping retriever extends up to 16 feet for disc golf, fishing lures, and geocaching. Customers said it "paid for itself" quickly, retrieving discs from trees and water. Praised for impressive extension and rigidity. Concerns about durability: hooks break, sections collapse, and thin extensions crack with side pressure or dirt buildup.

Worked great until it broke

Worked great until it broke. Too much side to side pressure pushing through grass and thorn bushes bent the smallest extension section. Once it bends it cracks. Those sections are thin so the whole thing won't weigh a ton. I got overzealous with it. Only pull straight straight towards you with it.

Fishing lure retriever

Bought to grab fishing lures from trees, has already paid for itself

It's way better to drag the trash out than have to crawl into the brush to get it.

I had bought a device similar to to this, but the configuration of the working end was more complex though covered the same with the blue covering. That was not as good as I expect this Golf Retriever will be. This picker will be used in pulling out and removing trash and bottles from The Mountain Parks.

Paid for itself in 2 trips

Love this tool, it's already paid for itself helping myself and other disc golfers alike on just about every other trip I've been going on

Not the quality I had expected.

I had really high hopes for this retriever .. a good friend had one and really loved it. For me, however, the experience was mixed. It took me 2 months before I had a chance to try it out, and immediately I realized that one of the sections would not stay extended; as soon as any tension was applied, the section would release and slide back in. I could not see any way to remedy this problem. Very disappointing!

Great for geocaching!

It fits in my geocaching backpack and extends to 16 feet? How can geocachers needing to get geocaches out of trees go wrong with that???

Best money in disc golf!

This telescopic hook is the perfect size! It collapses down for ease of transport and have saved me 5 discs already from the and barn roof lake at our local intermediate course(never said I was a good player haha)

Great investment

Pole is amazing. Has saved at least 40 discs since buying it. I actually have been able to help alot of people at my local course that lose a disc in a tree or in deep brush that they cant get to. Has been amazing to have. I wish it was a bit more sturdy and durable but for the price and how many discs its saved it is 100% worth it.

Not super durable but worth it

This is the second one of these I've had, the first stick the hook was the first part to break but was able to still poke discs out of tree. Then after awhile it stopped collapsing due to a mix of dirt getting caught inside and potentially closing it too fast. Still saved me a ton of time and effort from just throwing baseballs. Just keep it from dirt and take your time collapsing it to make it last.

Great retriever! I've used it much more than I thought I would

I'll start with the cons... It's a little heavier than I expected (several ounces) and I had to drill a hole in the handle to attach a clip to keep from losing it (like a buddy of mine did with his). Now on to the pros.. The extension on this is impressive. I've used it to pull discs out of trees and pull from water hazards. At full extension, it still has enough rigidity to push lighter branches away. At first, I was concerned I couldn't use it enough to justify buying it. I've used it multiple times! I wouldn't suggest everyone having one, but you definitely become the hero in your group when you do have one and you're not throwing objects at discs in trees or swimming to get them back. Paid for itself in one season. I drilled a hole in the handle to attach a carabiner to it with a piece of heavy gauge wire so it can clip to my bag and not lose it. If you do this, make sure you extend the pole out so you don't drill through other pieces of the extension. My advice to the company would be to attach a ring to the handle or have a hole ready for this.

Best product of the year!

If you are a fishermen or if you are looking to find some lures, this is a need. This product is very high quality. People might think that it is only for disc, but this is perfect for fishing lures. Every fishing lure I saw, I easily got. In total I found 23 lures. Highly recommend, works very well.

Solid and Sturdy

You never hope to need to have one until you do. I like it. It gets the job done

Good but not great

A great way to grab things out of brush or out of shallow water, but since this doesn’t come with the “water grabber” attachment it is hard to snag discs from underneath the water

Needs improvement

One use with it partially extended and noticed the end where the claw is attached was bent , which of course snapped off after the slightest bit of pressure from pulling a disc back. I was able to reattach the claw to the new (shorter) end piece .
